If an appropriate amount of Cr2O3 is added to Al2O3, it will be found that the mechanical properties and high-temperature performance of corundum-based refractories are changed.

Cr2O3 can form compounds with higher melting points or eutectics with higher melting temperatures with many common oxides.
In addition, Cr2O3 can also increase the viscosity of the slag, the viscosity increases, the fluidity of the slag will decrease, and the erosion of the refractory material by the slag will also be reduced. When we add an appropriate amount of Cr2O3 to the refractory material, it can reduce the spalling of the furnace lining material structure caused by erosion.
